Finding Books

The CLAN catalog ...
is the tool to find the books and other printed materials owned by Sierra Nevada College.  It contains records for all of our the physical holdings – books, videos, print periodicals – and for all of our virtual, online holdings.

When CLAN's homepage opens, you will be searching just the holdings of Sierra Nevada College.  You can search the entire CLAN catalog which includes public libraries (excluding Clarke, Washoe, and Douglas counties), in the state of Nevada. If your student information has been added into the SNC CLAN database, you may place holds on materials you find in other libraries and specify where within the CLAN system you would like to pick it up.  Please contact the SNC library if you would like to do this.  It just takes a bit of initial set-up on our end.

You can also search CLAN for Video holdings only.

WorldCat ...
is an comprehensive online catalog of the books, videos, and other materials held by over 15,000 domestic and international libraries.
Most books available at U.S. libraries can be borrowed on interlibrary loan.  Materials that are held by Sierra Nevada College are clearly marked.  You can create an account on WorldCat and save your address and contact information.  Then, when you want to borrow a book that Sierra Nevada College doesn't own, you can easily create an ILL request from within WorldCat.
